We have our new baby!

Jamie Kevin Gallagher, born 3:34 am, Monday, December 15th.

9.5 lbs, 21.5 inches.

What a red face he has!

He was born in the water tub. His apgars were 8/10/10. And everything is just perfect.

Here's Maggie checking out her new little brother later on Monday morning. She was pretty interested.

Brendan had been brought in to see him earlier, before going to school, but was really too sleepy to be terribly interested then. Thought it was just Maggie at first, then said "New baby?" Yes! This is your little brother, Jamie, want to come see him? "snore..."

Both kids got the chance to climb up with me and take a good look at him when I came downstairs later. Brendan asked his name. Apparently he'd told his teacher there was a new baby, but had been too sleepy to remember the details.

Maggie loves to touch him, ears, hair, etc. Mostly she's gentle, but we're having to be careful to take her away if she starts getting rough.
