Developed architectures, selected orbits, analyzed requirements, created operations concepts, and performed other general systems engineering tasks for more than half a dozen satellite programs.

Maintained and upgraded highly complex proprietary analysis software using Fortran. Rewrote Fortran IV code to meet modern software standards and improve performance. Added features to software to support new architecture concepts.

Supported several satellite system proposals, providing architecture and orbit analysis, writing proposal sections, and presenting to customer organizations. Received formal training in systems engineering.

Optimized communications satellite antenna coverage patterns. Analyzed satellite orbit configurations for best data recovery times. Performed Monte Carlo analyses to predict availability performance of constellations and number of replacement satellites needed to replenish constellation over full mission duration. Analyzed requirements for GEO direct broadcast satellite and conducted trade studies to identify optimum beam pattern, resulting in a patentable innovation.
