Never titled these - fall 1988

If i spoke to you in a common tongue,
Offered you a glimpse of my soul,
would you listen?

If i gave to you a fragile flower,
trying to blossom in the snow,
would you take it?

would you accept the part of me
(hidden inside)
that so wants to grow in the sun?

Or would you turn your face away
(laughing inside)
as the flower withers and dies.

Don't turn your back and walk away,
please?

Listen not only to my inner self,
Speak to me also of your soul -
I will listen.

If you offer me the joys that you know,
The pains and sorrows that you feel,
I will take them.

Take off the masks worn for the world,
Hiding your heart,
And come walk with me in the sun

So we can share the warmth and light,
Laughing out loud,
As we pick the flowers of spring.

We have a world ahead of us,
My love!
